About
The Mercies of God Association is a nonprofit dedicated to restoring meaning to people's lives through direct action, unmistakable kindness, and unapologetic philanthropy. We step into the places everyone else avoids, meet people where they are, and prove through action, not talk that purpose can be rebuilt, one human being at a time.
Brought back to life by Stephen Nortier, Ashton Nystrom has stepped in to build something this country hasn't seen in a long time: A movement rooted in mercy, meaning, and the belief that one act of goodness can reroute an entire life.
The Mercies of God Association was revived with a simple conviction: people are drifting, breaking, and losing themselves; not because they're weak, but because no one is showing up for them. In a culture obsessed with tearing down, we exist to lift up. In a world drowning in noise, we offer purpose. And in a time where suffering is treated like background static, we put human beings back at the center of the story.
Across this nation, communities are collapsing under addiction, homelessness, broken families, and spiritual emptiness. People aren't just hungry; they're directionless. They're not just poor; they're lost. The world offers entertainment, distraction, and ideology, but nothing that fills the ache in a human soul. That's where we step in.
Our foundation is built on the belief that meaning is restored through action. Real kindness. Real sacrifice. Real connection. We go directly to the people who have been forgotten — the homeless, the addicted, the abandoned, the ones everyone else steps over — and we show them that their story is not over. Through philanthropy, grassroots outreach, and public advocacy, we are rebuilding the social fabric one life at a time.
Our culture is starving for direction, hope, and identity. The Mercies of God Association exists to confront that crisis. We empower people to rediscover purpose through community, service, accountability, and faith-driven action. We stand against the apathy, nihilism, and spiritual decay tearing people apart — and instead champion compassion, responsibility, and the transformative power of mercy.
Our programs and initiatives are designed to restore dignity, meaning, and direction. Through outreach projects, public storytelling, youth engagement, and acts of radical generosity, we are building a network of people committed to healing their communities. We aim to inspire young leaders to take ownership of their lives — and to step into the world as forces for change, just as Ashton did.
This movement is not political. It is not partisan. It is human. It belongs to the people who refuse to look away from suffering and are willing to do something about it.
We are rebuilding hope.
We are restoring meaning.
We are creating a culture of mercy; one act at a time.
